My Fitbit Alta will not hold a charge and a week ago it would only turn on when plugged in. But now it won’t do anything!! I’ve tried restarting it and nothing shows on the screen

Mine will restart and turn on, but won’t stay on for more than 10 seconds. I don’t know what the problem is.

Pretty sure it's busted, and you'll need a new one.

Same thing happened to me. I've found that their products are disposable, just not at disposable prices. I won't be buying another one.

My screen is completely black, no images, no vibration when I plug it in and my phone can't connect with it...

Same thing,Wont start up, wont restart, wont vibrate. Do nothing. But it heats up while connected to my mac. Disappointed, Such a waste of money.

Same problem, except mine got very hot after it was connected to the charger for a couple hours, but no sign of life.

Happened to me too. Won't turn on. Loading and clicking button on loading cable won't do anything. Owning it for 3 years now.

Same here...no vibration. Was fine, charged on my wrist, and then just stopped working. 1.5 years old. Not responding to anything. Grrr...

How do I activate the warranty?

I had no idea that button was even there...thank you!!!

My fitbit now has life.

Too bad it didn't log all those steps I made today, lol.

Thanks again

Same thing happened to me. At this price should last longer than it did. I've had it just a little over 2 years. With so many people having the same issue you'd think Fitbit would realize there is an issue with their product. Customer service is no help and just offers a discount code to use on your next Fitbit purchase so you can get another product that will last a year or so and have to spend even more money for a new one. I had opted to go with Fitbit over other products because I thought they were a reputable company and known for great trackers but looks like I should have gone with a different brand. Which did you decide to go with?

I actually followed the instructions that another suggested. Never knew
this feature was there. At the end if the charging cable that goes into
the USB there is a button. Hold for 3 seconds.
Worked perfectly after that.
I did have a prior issue with another fit bit that I had and when I
reached up to customer service they were excellent and end up doing a one
time replacement for me.
Give it a try

I already tried that. I had did a search and found posts that recommended
to do the reset. I performed the reset and nothing happened. I saw in other
posts that they were told they needed to contact customer support if it did
not resolve their issue. I contacted customer support. Nothing helped and
since I am out of warranty the only thing they can do to help is offer me a
discount codes towards my next Fitbit purchase. Glad it worked for you but
looks like with the most recent software update this happened to a lot of
people and most, including me, aren’t as lucky as you were.

Same issue.... by the number of people facing the same problem, I’d say it looks like built-in obsolence.

very disappointed to see this happening a few days before new models are launched.

Yep. Me too. It was working before my shower, I took it off and put it back on when I was done, saw the green lights flashing, and when I went to check the time a while later, it was dead. Charging doesn't do anything. No vibration, no signs of life at all. Sucks. It's not quite 2 years old.

This is happening to a lot of people. And the answer shouldn't be you have to get a new one. Very frustrating

Is anyone with this problem tried replacing the power cable?
