Ok is there anything that can be done to hard reset this alta hr. Its been randomly shutting down. When I put it on the charger, I have to tap the button three times to get it to acknowledge the fitbit is on the charger. Then it shows I have 40% battery and within 15 mins it says its fully charged, but thats impossible. Sometimes it notifies me to get my steps, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it tells me i got my steps for the hour but then my dot doesn't show up. Its been acting very weird lately. I have reset it at least a dozen times in the last two weeks. Its getting frustrating. Help!!!!

Hi, @bazb92958 , unfortunately it sounds likely that your Alta HR is getting close to the end of its useful life, as it must be several years old by now. If you have already reset the device several times there is not much more you can do.
If you are thinking of upgrading it might be worth getting in touch with Fitbit Customer Service on Contact.Fitbit.com . I know that they often are able to offer a discount to loyal Fitbitters who are looking to upgrade. I personally am a big fan of the Inspire 2, though the screen can be hard to read in the sunshine. Fitbit often brings out new devices in the autumn, so maybe an Inspire 3 with a colour screen? I’d go for that!
(Obv I have no insider info - just hoping for the Inspire 3…)
Meanwhile, I am sorry not to have better news for you.
