Hi there, I know there might be other threads about this issue..

I've followed Alta HR the troubleshooting steps regarding turning off bluetooth / restarting the fitbit and phone reinstalling the app etc...
The behavior is still the same. When I set up the device it can find it and then I enter the 4 digit pin then it will time out and say try again.

Fit bit Alta HR pixel 3a Android version 11 downloaded latest fitbit app from google play store,

Fitbit Alta HR / Pixel 3 (not a) running Android 11 here as well, figured I might as well add my voice to this if it can help get attention. I'll be calling support tomorrow since I've done all the basics besides syncing to an apple since I don't have one.

It's already November and this problem has persisted on the flagship phones for the parent company of fitbit for two months?

Also WHY was that reply marked as an answer/ This thread marked answered? That's not an answer, and the issue isn't *isolated* to just the Pixel 3a users! Can a moderator correct this because it's misleading to people searching for the fix.

Dame issue here with Pixel 3 / Alta. So frustrating! I will try syncing to another device to see if that works.

I have the same issue with Charge2. Since Pixel3a update to Android11 the app won't update on my phone. So I installed Fitbit Connect on my Macbook pro running OS10.15.7.  After I put the 4 digit code in the app on the Mac; it says updating your Charge2 and then says "An unknown error has occurred". I tried again, going to main menu and tried syncing again - no luck 😞

So the Mac app won't work either?

My wife's Fitbit stopped syncing with her Pixel 3XL after an Android update.  I removed the device from her account and tried to reconnect unsuccessfully.  I then tried to connect it to my Android cell phone that was already connected to a Fitbit Versa without success.  I then set it up to connect to my iPad.  After it was setup on the iPad, it started to work with her Pixel 3XL phone.

Lol hilarious that the 3a used to sync fine and now doesn't and Fitbit's excuse for no longer working is that it "isn't a supported device." (I see people with supported devices are having the same issue but nevermind that)

I went through all the troubleshooting with an agent before basically being told to take my business elsewhere, so that's exactly what I'll do. Never buying another Fitbit since they don't even support their crappy product.

Yes response was basically too bad, go ahead and take your business elsewhere....

I now can't sync my fitbit alta hr to any device. I've tried my pixel 3a, iphone, windows 10 laptop. I've tried literally every tip I can find on all message boards. I can get my pixel to 'find' the fitbit and pass the 4 digit code on but after that it can't connect?

Fitbit sucks.

I have a Pixel 3a and am alta hr and I've never had a problem until now. It started yesterday when I noticed the battery was low. Then again today even after I charged it it was almost dead. Turns out the sync keeps spinning.im guessing this is what's robbing the battery power.

I have an alta and the last time I synced successfully on my pixel 3xl was Nov 5 (only found out today). I tried all sorts of stuff from my phone such as reloading the app and resetting but no dice. I decided to look for a Windows fitbit  app and found one in the microsoft store. I was able to pair with my fitbit right away and synchronize. From the android app, I also started seeing the updates. Note that suddenly, I received notification on my phone that my alta wanted to pair. I hit  yes the android app is now synced with my alta. I quit from the windows app and also disabled my PC bluetooth and the alta is still synced with my phone. I don't know if this will last but it's working for me so far.

Hogwash indeed! I followed the above, using my Samsung tablet. Was able to connect the Alta HR to my tablet. It had not been updated for thee weeks. Once connected, a message displayed that did not appear on the Pixel3a. The message was an apology for taking so long to sync. I assume that was because of the amount of data to be synced. Once that was completed, I logged out on the tablet and back on the 3a. All was okay. Perhaps the sync lag with the 3a causes Fitbit to abort prematurely? Anyway, thanks MrThurtle for sharing your solution!

My Fitbit Altra HR has been syncing fine with my pixel 3A until  two months ago. Your statement that it is not compatible withis phone is not true. I have followed every direction I can possibly find including turning off the phone turning the phone back on doing a factory reset with the Fitbit turning Bluetooth off and on period when I try again to connect the Fitbit to this phone I get the four digit number it says it sees it and nothing happens very disappointing

Thanks so much, I was tearing my hair out in frustration, repeatedly putting 4 digit codes into my Pixel 3a that never worked. I was ready to throw my stupid Fitbit off a bridge when I happened on this thread. Thankyou mcbain_83 and my dodgy old iPhone 5, your fix worked for me and I'm so very grateful. Cheers to you 🍺

I didn't say it isn't compatible. The Fitbit person who replied to the
first post said that in the community post. I got mine to sync again,
however the battery is running down daily. Someone else posted it could be
connected to the latest Fitbit updates.

Yes agreed. Some people said try to sync it to your computer or tablet then
it seems to sync. That worked for me but now my battery runs down very
quickly. The Fitbit response was very unprofessional.

Yes I agree. That was not a good answer. Some people said they thought it
was due to a Fitbit update. I synced to me computer and it started syncing
again but now the battery runs down very quickly.

I was able to sync through my computer and then it started syncing again on
my phone but the battery runs out very quickly. Someone posted they new
updates have caused issues. I hope they fix it soon.

Did you ever get your fitbit to sync?

Yes. I synced it to my kindle and then I was able to get it to sync to the
Fitbit, but now the battery runs down almost daily. I turned off sync all
the time and the Bluetooth to help it last longer. This is very odd. It
used to last a week.
