Hi there, I know there might be other threads about this issue..

I've followed Alta HR the troubleshooting steps regarding turning off bluetooth / restarting the fitbit and phone reinstalling the app etc...
The behavior is still the same. When I set up the device it can find it and then I enter the 4 digit pin then it will time out and say try again.

Fit bit Alta HR pixel 3a Android version 11 downloaded latest fitbit app from google play store,

Same here!  Alta HR/Pixel 3.  Loaded the app on my laptop and it synced and now it's synced with my phone.  I lost some data, but it's working now.  Hope it lasts.  Thanks for the work around. 😄

My Pixel 3a was working just fine with the Alta HR until the first week in December, then it quit syncing.  So after following directions from several sites that indicated to delete the tracker & reinstall I attempted.  But just as in Odyssey13's situation, it never pairs again.

This is nonsense to roll out updates but not support your product.

Will be moving on to another brand of tracker.

If Fitbit isn't hearing its customers, & there are plenty of us with Pixel 3as, we find another product.

I agree.  It has been working as a compatible phone until the last month. NOW, all of a sudden, WE have the wrong phone?

I called in tonight and was told to try in a few weeks.  I asked if I could get some kind of credit for an upgrade and was told no....Fitbit come on....make a fix for this problem!  For now I have a fancy paperweight.....

Ok. Update time.

Context , I gave up on syncing my fitbit alta via my phone and wen't via my macbook laptop..

Wake up this morning and I see notifications on my phone about how far ahead I am in step challenges.. i.e the notifications I get after syncing my steps through my laptop..

Looks like my mobile sync is working again. I think it may have been an android app update?

All the app release notes seem to be bugs + stability improvements.. seriously Fitbit those release notes are not helpful. But anyway I hope that a bug fix was the pixel 3a sync issues..

Yes. The same thing happened with me. After I synced with my computer it
finally worked, but it started draining the battery and it would die after
a few hours.

I had the same issue last year but have now had it again this year. Eventually used an old phone and it synched, then occasionally tried my Pixel 3a again. Eventually it started working on the Pixel 3a again but now won't work in either. I kept being told by customer services that they were working on a fix but couldn't say when. They thought it was perfectly ok to not be able to use their product for 6 weeks. I think they claim to support old products but have decided they don't want to support the Alta HR anymore. Mine is only just 2 years old. Terrible for the environment to expect us to chuck away devices that work because they don't want to work on the software.

Very disappointing that Fitbit, which was purchased by Google, doesn't see that it should service Google's products--ALL of them.

After trying so many times to sync with the Google Pixel 3a, my Alta HR will no longer reboot.  It will only scroll fitbit.com/setup...it does nothing else.  It appears to have died.  So, the only response is to move on & go with another activity tracker, one that doesn't have such proprietary problems.

I too have received problems ever since the upgrade. To the point where my Fitbit will no longer pair with my Google Pixel 3 A. And the timing is now off on my Fitbit so I can't even use it as a watch. It's been rendered useless and I'm really upset because now I have to pay money which I don't have for a new one.

This bug affected me too with Alta HR after an accidental unpairing app and tracker. Nothing helps - numerous restarts and repairing attempts, a full walkthrough with a chat support. But the newest version 3.43 fixes this bug with pairing. Seems it needs much more time to pair older Alta HR with a phone and the new app continues pairing attempts for a longer time (several minutes instead of a minute in a previous version). It had worked for me for the first attempt. Hope it would help you too!
