Alta Hr workouts stopping around 35 minutes

I have been wearing my Alta HR for the last two weeks and I've noticed that no matter how long my workouts are, my tracker only seems to pick up about 30 to 36 minutes worth of it. As an example, today I did aerobic exercise for 2 and 1/2 hours. But when I go to the app and see the exercise graphs, they only go for 36 minutes. The graph itself stops abruptly with my heart rate in the top of the graph. Obviously, something is going on, but I don't know what. The Ulta was tight against my arm and should not have stopped recording for any reason that I can tell.

Why am I only getting workouts that are about 36 minutes long, even when I'm doing them for an hour or two at a time?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @ShadowVFX. Sorry for the delayed response.

I regret to hear that your Fitbit Alta HR is not recording your workouts completely. Thank you for the information provided. If you haven't done it already, please be so kind to restart your device by following these instructions.

In addition, please make sure that your Fitbit device will recognize your activities longer than the settings on your Fitbit account. You can check this information if you go online to fitbit.com > Settings > Devices > Auto-Exercise Recognition. Please make sure that you sync your Alta HR after making any change to your Fitbit account.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

I know it's been months since I posted this, but the issue has been very persistent. My average workout is only tracking at ~20 minutes (sometimes as long as 30, but other times as low as 13). My regular workout routine consists of 1 - 2 hours of non stop aerobic exercise about twice a week. There is no reason why my workout should be stopping when my heart rate is at its peak.

I have followed the advice here and in other Fitbit model's threads without success. I have done the following:

- Restarted my fitbit

- Updated my App on my phone

- Secured the fitbit tightly to my arm to make sure it's getting a good connection with my skin.

- Set auto detect workouts to as low as 10 minutes (issue persists).

I am very frustrated. I have seen so many other people (across multiple fitbit models) have this issue. Is a firmware fix coming or something? Because right now, this thing is worthless for tracking my workouts.
