I got my Alta today and I've had it plugged in and charging for over 2 hours now and it won't turn on. If I tap the screen nothing happens, I've tried restarting it too. Any suggestions?

This was exactly what I needed to do to get my Alta to work. I was getting very discouraged as I just got it today and was thinking something was wrong with it. Thank you!

I am having the same issues, and I have tried the reset (pushing the button on the charger 3x), I've set it up on my Laptop and phone, and the Alta says it is completely charged. When I tap the screen (after a few aggressive taps) while it is plugged in it shows me data, but when I take it off the charger I get nothing. I have tried tapping it all over the screen, on the side, etc. and nothing.
This is my first Fitbit and right now my first impression is pretty bad. I ordered this from Amazon, who do I need to contact about getting this fixed? Right now I am ready to call it quits and just return the Alta and not replace it.

Same thing here. I took it out of the box, tapping on the screen wouldn't do anything. Took out the charging cable, plugged it into my computer, nothing. Tapping on the screen, still nothing. Tried to set it up with my Fitbit app, the app cannot find the Fitbit Alta. I'm thinking I received a defective Fitbit Alta.

My Alta will not turn on when I tap it twice and if it turns on when I turn my wrist, it will not go to the other screens when I tap it once. It turns off

Did your problem got solved? I tried everything but my Alta is still not turning on. Brand new in box, I tried to sync it to the app, because I have an existing Flex. It tried to sync at first then stopped then it just stopped working. Blank screen, won't turn on, won't charge. Nothing.
This is the worst Fitbit ever. I regret buying it.

I contacted Fitbit and they sent me a replacement for my defective Alta. I recommend contacting Fitbit.

It seems to be working better now. I have never restarted it. I have no idea how to do anything on the settings yet.

I'm on my second replacement and customer service treated me, as if I was trying to get over on them. I purchased mine from Macy's in May for myself for Mother's Day. It quit on me on Saturday, August 27th and now today, Thursday, November 17th. So disappointed. It's early in the day and my steps are not being calculated. I have to dig out the old flex until I can get this resolved.
