Alta does not show steps on The dash board on my IPhone?

The steps are not showing for my Alta and when I try to sync it says sync failed however when I tap on the circle with the step, it takes me to the week and there I can see how many steps I have taken for the day.  Anyone else having this problem?  This started yesterday.
