Alta dying on full charge

Hi!

My Fitbit Alta keeps dying on full charge and won’t turn back on until reconnected to the charger. Have tried resetting it and the issue persists.

I’ve been having the same problem. It works up to the point where the battery indicates it’s about 1/4 charged then it dies. I have to plug into the charger to “wake it up”. So a charge is only lasting about 2 days.

Same thing is happening to me.

Mine has been doing this too. Full charge used to last about a week. Over the past week it has shut off multiple times at 90% and I have to plug it in to wake up. Today it has died twice despite being fully charged this morning.

Bonjour,

Pareil pour moi, elle s'éteint systématiquement à 10000 pas et très souvent alors que la batterie est chargée (même aux 3/4). Peut-on changer la batterie ?

Hello,

I am here for the same reason.  I synced up this morning and my battery level was half way. I tried syncing after 5 miles on treadmill only to find it had stop working after 575 steps today.  Only way I can "wake" it is to put it in the charger.

The interesting thing is, it does not charge at a steady pace. It starts as if the battery is totally depleted but then within 5-10 minutes (charging as I write this) the Alta battery shows to be OVER HALF way charged.

I noticed before it seemed to report being fully charged after fifteen minutes or so.

I think the battery is the problem!

Absolutely. It’s really frustrating. I’ve managed to borrow a Fitbit from a friend (coincidentally another Alta!) until I can replace mine. I’m hoping the same thing doesn’t happen to my loaner Fitbit too!

This has been happening to me too within the past few weeks. I also find I need to sync it more frequently so the time reads correctly as well as charge it every other day. I no longer get a battery dying warning. When I put it on the charger it shows 3/4 charged. My original charger broke awhile back and now I use an off-brand charger. I don't think I can reset it. This is my 3rd FitBit (I had two Charges previously) and I just don't think they're built to last.
