Alta hr gone crazy

My Fitbit in the last two weeks or so has started going insane. The screen is constant flipping on and off and the Fitbit logo sometimes flashes on, sometimes it's the clock (which is no longer the correct time) or an incorrect number of steps and it won't hold a charge or sync to ANYTHING. I love this Fitbit, it's my second one but I've only had it for a year and don't understand what it's being this way, last time I had an issue with my Fitbit, it just needed to update, but nothing like that is coming up and like I said, the Fitbit won't sync anymore.

Please help

Hi @kamileon,

Sounds like you need to contact Support (link at the bottom of the page) and ask for a Battery Test.

Mine won’t sync properly though battery is charged since Fitbit site went down on 8 May.

@kamileon , have you tried giving your Alta a restart?  That can solve many issues.

Make sure your Fitbit is well charged, and while it is still plugged in and charging, press  the button on your charging cable 3 times within a few seconds, briefly pausing between presses. The button is on the end of the charging cable that is plugged into your computer. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, this means the tracker has restarted.

If that doesn’t help the first time, it might be worth trying the restart procedure two or three times more, as a single restart is not always effective.

@ColumbiaMom sync issues are fairly common and usually resolve themselves.  I would recommend following the restart pricedure described above and then immediately try8ng to force a sync.  If that doesn’t help, try logging out of your Fitbit app and logging back in again (be sure you know the email address you used to set up the account, and the password!).  Hopefully that will work.  Please do NOT remove the Fitbit from your account and try to re-add it, as that could create issues even harder to resolve.  Please post again if you continue to have issues.

Weirdly, my alta suddenly came back to life today. It had never run out of battery power so Im not sure what was happening but know Fitbit said they were having problems as soon as I tried to report to them on 8 May. This past week it appeared everything would suddenly be ‘On’ starting around 9am, it would record about 300 steps then couldnt sync anymore. The outage from 8th and 9th was ‘ fixed’ on Mothers Day then happened again daily starting the 11th.
