Alta hr not syncing and no clock on screen

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Alta hr not syncing and the clock is not appearing. I do the reset and it shows the battery level then the face gets stuck on www.fitbit.com/setup scroll.

This started with the alta having really short cylces after being fully charged. It would only hold a charge for less than 36 hours. Sometimes it would die overnight while I was sleeping. I'd go to bed at 40 to 60%  but it would be dead when I woke up. I'd have to do the reset exercise a few times to get it going before I could recharge it

I have done ALL the suggestions including:

Cleaned the prongs and connectors

Changed charging outlets

Left charging for 2 hours

Left charging no more than 4 hours

Reset through charge cord

Attempted sync through app by pulling down home page - it says sync is complete but the data doesn't change

Attempted sync by going into app and pressing forced sync button- it cycles but doesn't change information leaving old information of last sync which is now 15 hours ago

Atte

Turned phone completely off and restarted

Removed and reapplied Fitbit app

Yes, the continuous sync switch is ON

Going to Fitbit. Com/setup does nothing but put me in a continuous loop of removing and replacing app,

So....not by choice it looks like I'm done with Fitbits

That "setup" message means that the Fitbit has somehow become disconnected from your account and it will do or show nothing else until it is reconnected by going through the setup process again.

On the main dashboard page of the app, select your profile image at the top left and then select "set up a device"

@Zorabean did you get this sorted in the end?

When I go to set up I get the message

"Whoa there, There's a Fitbit Alta HR connected to your account already. Are you setting up a new one?"

No. I don't want to set up a new one. The one I have connected is strangely still recording steps [hasn't recorded sleep since November 2019 before any other problems manifested]

I don't want to sever any dubious bond I have at the moment, no matter how tenuous.

And on top of that, I have absolutely no response from the Fitbit anymore. On Tuesday the screen went completely blank. None of the old ways to revive it work. I am not getting ANY response on the watch face. However, as I said above, it is still strangely counting my steps each day.
