My Fitbit Alta is only 2 years old and powers off with 70% battery remaining and will not turn back on until charging

If your tracker isn't holding a charge, I recommend taking a look at the help article: Can I extend my Fitbit device's battery life? and follow the tips provided there. After following them, test your unit.
