Well, sure, the Pixel 3a doesn't show up on their list from what I understand. But the Pixel 3 and a lot of other phones, do, and they're having the same problems.
I suspect Fitbit ever fixes the issues with Android 11 on Pixel 3, your Pixel 3a will sync fine.
Syncing to another device and then back to Pixel 3 does NOT work. It'll sync sometimes, but keeps losing sync. Notifications will not go through.
Anyone with success syncing to another device, then using the Alta HR solely with their Android 11 device: would you check and ensure that it's consistently syncing, that when you manually sync repeatedly the purple (!) icon does appear, and that you're getting notifications?
Cause it ain't working on my end. At all. Nonsense to think that it worked fine for me for years, and then suddenly is useless with Android 11. It's almost as if Fitbit is purposely phasing their devices to encourage people to buy their new models. Which is super scummy.

Hi all, I have a Pixel 3 and have had the same issues for several days. Extremely frustrating.
Finally today I was able to get it to sync. I uninstalled the fitbit app, turned off Bluetooth and restarted the phone. I then turned Bluetooth back on and reinstalled the app. Once I opened the app, choose to "Forget" the Alta, and proceed to connect a new device. At that point I was able to finally add the Alta and have it sync. Fingers crossed this lasts!

Pixel is in the list of devices in the link you gave. I don't see how they can say that a Pixel is not a supported device.

Doesn't work for me. Tried before, tried again using your steps.
Keeps losing sync.
Try this: in the settings screen with Account and Devices section, look at the Alta HR listing under Devices section and note the sync time.
Click the Alta HR device, and try manually syncing it. Sometimes for me it'll sync, most times it gives a magenta (!) symbol.
Curiously, if you manually initiate sync, go "back" to the screen with Accounts/Devices section and look at the section under the Alta HR listing.
Sometimes it sits as "Looking..." for a long time.
Anyway, whatever. Still no fix. Still losing sync. Still not getting notifications. Still no word from Fitbit. Still no solutions at all. Disappointing.

The Pixel *3a* is not on the list. Absurd, I know.

That's crazy since I've had my Alta HR for a few years and never had a problem with my Pixel 3. I hope they fix this....

New Fitbit app update doesn't fix sync issues.
Hope they keep trying!
Hope they are trying.

Well isn't that just lovely (sarcasm here). I've had my Pixel 3 for over a year and everything was fine until Oct. 10th. Mine won't sync and does not read my heart rate so I do not get sleep data. Had issues with my Aria scale not syncing when I changed my Internet provider. It wasn't compatible with Comcast. So frustrated with Fitbit.

I have a Pixel 3 and have had the same issues for about a week. I tried your steps and am now unable to reconnect to my Alta HR to bluetooth ☹️
The other issue is that, when I've got it connected to the charging dongle and connected to my computer, it's not even syncing with the app on my Windows 10 computer.
I hope someone from Fitbit is paying attention to this thread and that they're working on a fix for this.

This is exactly what is happening to me! Did it get resolved?
