I've been having an issue with my Alta for a couple of months now. It will only sync with my Android phone if I go into the app settings & clear the data & reconnect the device. When I go into the app it will refresh & say "syncing" and show that it completed but no data shows up & then when I go to my account & look at the device is says it can't find my Alta. I've tried resetting the Alta, turning off battery saver on my phone, syncing while it's charging, I've uninstalled & reinstalled the app, and nothing works. Once I clear the data it will sync any time I turn on the bluetooth but the next day, it won't sync anymore. It's really annoying having to do this every single day!

Hello @specialk77 clearing data will log a user out of their Fitbit account. It will not remove the tracker.
Instead of clearing data try clearing cache.
If that doesn't work. Swipe Fitbit out of memory. Open the phone settings, apps, stop app.

I was having the same issue. I wasn't even being notified when my battery was be dead. And whenever I would try to sync it especially to update the time since it was completely dead it would sink for ages and nothing wood sync properly. I would delete my Alta from my Fitbit app and we at it. But this only worked until the next time it died. I tried clearing the cache as the other post mentioned but that did not help as well. I also tried force stop which also did not work. Lastly I completely uninstall the app and reinstalled and logged back in. There seem to be a lot of new permissions that the app was asking for. Even previously having my Fitbit app up to date these never popped up. I always wondered why I never got notifications on my Fitbit when I got a call or text message either. It seems now that reinstalling the app has fixed all the issues including proper syncing!

Sorry for the typos... My dictation on my phone isn't very smart!

Thanks, I've tried clearing the cache as well & it doesn't help nor does stopping the app, it only syncs when I clear the data & log back in. I'm going to uninstall & reinstall again & see if that fixes it this time...hoping there was an update since the last time I tried that, it's been a couple of months.

Thanks! I'm going to try to uninstall & reinstall again & see if it sticks this time.

This did not work, nor did uninstalling & reinstalling everything...well that's not true, like everything else it worked that day but the next day it stopped. I thought it was going to start working again as fitbit installed a status ribbon on my phone but when I tap "sync" on that it doesn't work either. I've found that if I just log out & log in it will connect & sync so at least I don't have to clear the data & start over every time but it still doesn't work like it should. I might try my tablet to see if that app works properly & just uninstall everything from my phone.
