Alta only working when on charger

My Fitbit Alta only seems to work while it is charging . I have tried to reset it several times using the button on the charger. It syncs with my phone while it charges and shows full charge. Once I remove it from the charger, it does not work at all. It won't light up when not charging and my phone can't find it at all.

Any suggestions, besides the reset?!

Bought years ago and only opened the box yesterday. After setting up and charging, got the same phenomenon. Very astonished by such a poor product.

Battery charged in full. Definitely the new firmware issue!

It’s 2022 and they still have this problem! Only occurred after I got the new update. The fact that so many people have this problem is so frustrating and it seems they are doing nothing to help!

That’s why mine is in the trash now. And due to that really terrible, let’s say not existing service, I will never buy from Fitbit again

Is there a fix for this issue? Mine has been doing this the last 3 days, prior to this it always lasts 5 days between charging. Now it shows full charge but as soon as it is disconnected from the charger it had a blank screen. After reattached to charger I can see that the time is hours behind. Have reset it multiple times. Nothing is working  yet last week it lasted 5 days. Please help

Exact same thing happened to me. So many people have this problem and have tried reaching out to Fitbit, their only solution being to buy a new one. If you are “lucky” they give you a discount on your next purchase. As of right now, sadly I believe there isn’t a real solution. This problem has been going on for four years and they have not helped at all! I recommend just avoiding the Fitbit brand, consider getting an apple watch?

Yes, throw it away and switch to another more reliable brand with better service

This is very weird, in fact I used mine for almost 2 years and it stopped working while out of the charger, so I remember my sister had one she only used a couple of times and I charged it and surprising it did the same thing.. what makes me think that that product have a dead line to stop working. I upgraded to Apple Watch but on summer time I really miss my Fitbit. And i don’t think that’s even worth to replace the battery if this is the solution.. have anyone tried to replace the battery ?
