Alta shuts down after "reaching goal" (and more)

My Alta shuts down every time I reach my goal (10,000 steps).  It vibrates to let me know that I've reached my goal and shuts down (even though very little of the battery seems to have been used).  It then backtracks a bit and reads fewer steps than my goal.  (i.e. 9,800 steps rather than 10,000).  I thought it might be a problem with the vibration, but I can't seem to shut it off.  Also, if this dang tracker refuses to work, I thought I read that you can just wear your phone with the fitbit app to track your steps, (not convenient but a way to keep up my record) .... but it doesn't seem to work that way and it depends on one wearing the tracker.  Can anyone shed some light on this problem?

Thanks!

Hi @SedonaGal it sounds like there may not be enough power to run the motor that makes the vibration.

You might try charging the tracker, during the day before you hit your goal.
