Alta sleep information inaccurate

The last couple of nights My Fitbit Alta has not been tracking my sleep times correctly. I use the iOS app, so I’ve tried reinstalling the app. Didn’t make a difference. I’ve double checked my time zone settings and that my Fitbit is up to date. My sleep sensitivity has always been normal.

The first time it shows me going to bed at 0115, and waking at 0345. But I had gone to bed that night by 2300. Last night I was in bed by 0015 and woke at 0615. But my recorded time was 0215-0615. Last night for instance it also didn’t show any restless periods.

So my beginning sleep times appear to be off by a couple hours. Not sure what else to do. Also, I’m not able to restart my Fitbit as I do not have the original charger any longer. It broke. So I have a different one now that has no buttons on it.

Welcome to the Community, @delilahsdagger.

Thanks for troubleshooting this sleep issue. If you keep having problems with this information, I recommend trying the following:

  1. Make sure to not take off your tracker during the night.
  2. Do you remember being awake during the night? If yes, that solves it! Keep in mind that your tracker will detect if you are awake and will stop the sleep tracking process. If no, proceed to step three.
  3. Restart the tracker. See instructions in the help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device?.
  4. Confirm that the tracker is snug on your wrist (with an HR tracker, the lights shouldn't be visible).
  5. Try sleeping with the tracker on your non-dominant hand.
  6. If the setting was set to sensitive, please switch it to normal.
  7. If steps 1-6 do not solve the issue, I suggest manually editing the sleep log to reflect the time slept. See instructions in the article: How do I edit my sleep history in the Fitbit app?.

Let me know the outcome.
