Alta switches off at 5 miles

Everytime I reach 5 miles my Alta celebrates with loads of animation and then switches itself off. The only way I can seem to get around this is when it reaches 5 miles keep tapping the screen so it doesn't switch off. This is really inconvenient especially if I am in the middle of a run. Has anyone else come across this?

Sounds like it might be a power issue.
