Alta won’t connect to app

Hi guys! 
I’ve just got my new Fitbit Alta and have downloaded the fit bit app. 
The app is able to find the Alta and says it’s found my tracker. However, it then just says “connecting to tracker..” and gets stuck on this. 
I’ve tried deleting the app and resetting the Alta but nothing’s working 😞

I tried everything too and followed someones suggestion to attach the charging cable to the fitbit and power source, then press the button on the cable 3 times to reboot? the fitbit.  After this I was able to get it to sync for the first time in over a month.
