Alta won't sync or pair to my phone back again

My Alta stopped syncing. I tried a restart, uninstalling Fitbit from my phone and finally removed the Alta as a device on my Fitbit app. I cannot add the device back to the app now. It keeps searching but it never finds it. It is powered on and has a full charge but it continues to search. I'm thinking that Fitbit is just done with the Alta and no longer wants to support it. If this is the case, I'm finished with Fitbit. Every 2 years I have a problem with their tracker. Suggestions before I shop for some other brand?

Hi there, @KBWillard. Welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for trying to troubleshoot the issue with your Alta before reaching out. We‘re taking your comments and sentiments in regards to our products and services into consideration.

In addition to the steps you've done so far, please try the following:

  • Check if by any chance your phone's Bluetooth shows the Alta as a connected device. If so, please unpair/remove it.
  • Force quit the Fitbit app.
  • Turn off the Bluetooth.
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes.
  • Turn on the Bluetooth.
  • Setup your Alta again.
  • If there is no connection, restart your Alta once again.

If you can't get started with your Alta, usually a missing requirement is the cause. Carefully review the requirements provided in the help article Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?

If you continue having syncing difficulties after pairing your Alta, please make sure it meets the requirements listed here. Then, follow the troubleshooting steps provided here Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

Hope that helps.

Good afternoon,

I've done all of these steps. I cannot get my Alta to be added again. I completely started over by removing everything including the Alta from my account. Now, I can't add it back. It's connected to my computer, powered on, and when the phone searches for the device, it fails. I am again at the same place I was when I posted this. I used the site to read through how to do all the steps, but the device is not being found.
