Alta won't work unless it's connected to the charging cable

I have reset my Alta.  It is also fully charged.  However when I remove it from the charger and place on my wrist, the display is gone and it is not tracking any steps.  If it wasn't charged, I would say it was the battery and time for a new device.  My Alta is 7 1/2 years old.  Do you still think it is time for a new one?

Wow, @LongBeachGirl , that's amazing. Yes, it's time for a new Fitbit. I've been around the forums for a long time and never have seen an Alta with such a life span. Mine made it to two years. So, what's next for you? I got the Luxe, which was even better than the Alta HR that I had. Now I'm using the Inspire 3. The newer ones have brighter screens and seemingly softer bands. I am buying the Inspire 3.  And yes will set up on my existing account.  I would not want to lose all my info, including the badges you earn. Thank you.
