Alta - wont hold a charge and when I unplug I get it , it dies.

My Alta wont hold a charge or turn on if unplugged. The screen only turns on when attached to the   charging cable,  once I unplug it dies . I see that many people have the same problem. I have called customer service waiting for an answer. I have tried everything they have suggested.

and how can you get a battery if the product is out of warranty?

umm i just look online for fitbit alta batterys but there hard to get in in out have you been to the fitbit suppot

i have almost no details and they said to send it to the place and they will send me a new one

I just chatted with support and they, hopefully, fixed my problem. I am using the original charger. I was told to plug it in and attach my Alta. Then to push the circular button on the USB end 3 times with a tiny pause between each. It appears to have worked and reset my fit bit. The Alta should vibrate, mine did not, and then show the logo. Hope this helps the rest of you.
