My device is recording my heart rate as usual but it is no longer showing my average bpm and time in each heart rate zone associated with logged exercise. I am syncing with my iPhone SE.

I have had the exact same problem for the past four or five days. That’s important information I would like to have back. Are we being forced to upgrade in order to get the exercise heart rates and zone?

I, too, am missing the 'time in heart rate zones' all this week. HELP! I've grown to depend on this information! Why did it go away? I am new to Fitbit, just a month now. Don't understand why things have suddenly changed for the worst....

I wish someone would answer this question! I sure would have liked to have known my average HR for the race today. How does it calculate calories burned without an average HR? Did I really burn 1,000 calories during the race?

Since I’ve received no help from this forum (do paid company techs not involve themselves in this area?) I attempted to chat yesterday with a Fitbit rep who was not able to help, but said I’d receive an email with a case #. I did and they asked me for some screenshots, then came back with the directive to disable the auto-recognition feature in Exercise. I have not done this yet because I’m troubled that I have to lose this feature in order to get back to working as I was before this week! Doesn’t seem right.

I have been having this issue with my Alta HR and my iPhone 8. I have the latest Fitbit app installed ver 3.2. I have restarted my iPhone. I have restarted my fitbit. Still not getting the HR graphs or average HR when manually using the Exercise Tracker. It just stopped working. This is the whole reason I have the fitbit. It needs to be fixed. There are similar threads to this one in other parts of the community and one or two moderators are aware but I have not heard anything from 'FitBit'. I have emailed Customer Support but who knows how long that will take? Meanwhile if I go for a run I can get HR if I rely on auto detection but then I don't get GPS mapping. If I use manual tracking I get the mapping but no HR data. I hope this is not a greedy ploy to get people to move to 'premium'. If so it is unethical and immoral.

Thank you for the additional information. I will let auto detection kick in for now. I hate losing GPS but I rely on HR during my runs. If this isn’t fixed soon, I’ll have to dump Fitbit and buy an Apple Watch. I’ve wanted one for a while so for me, it might be a silver lining.
I remember when Fitbit at least pretended to care...
ETA: I just checked... the last day it worked properly was July 29.

Yes I rely on the heart rate tracking for my runs. I am thinking of a miomi band . The alta hr has always been pretty useless due to not being able to see the screen in daylight so this is a good reason to ditch it now if fitbit isn't even going to acknowledge this current problem

I’m right there with you. I’m unfamiliar with Miomi bands but I’m going to research it. It might be less expensive than an Apple Watch. Again, thank you!
If if I don’t hear about a fix in one week, I’m going shopping!

This is what support (through email) instructed me to do. It didn’t work. Maybe it will for you.
1. Log-out of the Fitbit app
2. Do a reset or reboot on your iphone. Or shut down/power off, after 30 seconds, turn back on.
3. Log-in to your Fitbit account
4. Check if you can now see Avg bpm and HR zones
5. If problem persists, delete Fitbit app, then reinstall it.

Hi 1grannyfranny
I have been onto Customer Support too and got similar instructions. I have tried them several times and like you it didn't work. I've let them know and I'm waiting for a reply. I don't see how dozens of FitBit devices all simultaneously develop the same fault. It would seem that something is different with the way the FitBit servers are syncing the data - maybe. I'm no expert!
Cheers

I completely agree. I wonder if this issue coincides with an update. Too many people are experiencing the same problem!

Everything was working fine with the heart rate average when I ran on 7/29. After that....nothing. The last update was a while ago so I don’t think it coincides with that. It would be nice if Fitbit would take a look at this.

Oscott01's information seems to rule out the update as the problem at least. I had the problem before I installed FitBit app 3.2. Clearly we need FitBit to tell us WTH is going on. It doesn't seem to be huge numbers of people but it still is quite a few. Is it confined to iOS devices? Does anyone know?

So glad I found your post. I’ve had my Alta HR for a long time but just noticed you can track your GPS route if you start the exercise manually (lol), so I decided to give it a try today. Lo and behold, I did not see any HR zone information on my readout when I’ve always been able to for auto-tracked runs. I was confused and thought maybe this was just the default setup for manually tracked runs, even though it makes no sense, so I tried googling it, but nothing came up. Then I came to the Fitbit forum and yours is the first post I see, turns out it hasn’t always been like this! Really hoping for a solution here as I rather liked the display of Fitbit’s GPS route and don’t want to go back to auto-recognition.

Hi mirikat - It's really cool feature and the main reason I bought my FitBit and I am really annoyed it is not working anymore. I've tried to attach a screen shot of one of the data screens you used to get. Of course you have the mapping as well. I also export to Strava and it becomes even more powerful. Cheers.

That’s the same date it last worked for me, too.
