My device is recording my heart rate as usual but it is no longer showing my average bpm and time in each heart rate zone associated with logged exercise. I am syncing with my iPhone SE.

@Julia888 and @the3amigos - best of luck with your journeys to get a decent fitness tracker.
Things are still going well with the Vivosmart. The fitbit app did one or two things few things slightly better, but the fact that the garmin app gives an accurate GPS route trace, records heart rate, gives a zone analysis is pretty overwhelming ..........

Looks like fitbit have no intention of fixing this.
After extensive chat, followed by email, pointing out and proving that the functionality has changed, this was the fitbit response:
Hi,
Thank you for keeping in touch and providing screenshots.
We're constantly striving to improve Fitbit products and services, which sometimes results in existing products changing.
We appreciate your feedback and will do our best to make sure this product is aligned with your interests. Let us know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Shayne Mariane M. and the Fitbit Team

Hilarious! Canned response that's the equivalent of "sorry, don't care".
Thanks so much for trying. Yeah, they aren't interested in giving us back something that was so useful. I guess the fact that they aren't even manufacturing Alta/Alta HR any more should be our answer. It's too bad they don't care about the huge numbers of us that have either of these models.

instead of fixing, they don't care losing customers to other platforms... how is that for a sustainable business model...?

Guess it comes down to how invested you are in the fitbit ecosystem ... the only power we have as consumers is to walk away. REALLY annoying though it was, I came to the conclusion some time ago that fitbit weren't going to fix this disastrous issue, so I moved over to garmin.
It was a waste of time and money, but still worth it in my view. Can't really see the point of having an HR tracker that doesn't record HR exercise zones along with an accurate GPS route!

replacement one to avoid fitbits. It started as an excellent product and is
now underwhelming and frustrating. They have shown themselves to not care
at all about their customers.

Maybe some movement after all?
This is the latest (unsolicited) communication from fitbit:
Hello,
This is a follow up email regarding the issue you're experiencing with your Alta HR.
Please know that we are working to identify a resolution as quickly as possible.
We're sorry for any trouble. We appreciate your patience and look forward to getting you back on track.
Let us know if you have any additional questions and we'll be happy to assist you.
Sincerely,
Philip C. and the Fitbit Team

Fitbit has been saying this for six months. Since they are no longer manufacturing the Alta/Alta HR, I doubt they're interested in fixing this.

Same issue. This appears common and old and to have been put in the backlog and not be worked on. I think I’m done with my fitbit

I’m experiencing the same problem where my Alta HR does not associate average heart rate or calories burned to my exercise workout in my mobile app. And therefore no graphs or bar charts. Just says, “Not enough data available”. The problem started around February 28, 2020 (leap year issue?). I used the customer support chat feature and was told Fitbit was aware of the problem and working on a solution. No timeframe given for a fix.

This problem started after a July 2019 update.
Fitbit DOES NOT plan to fix this. we all get standard 'we are aware of the problem', 'we are looking into this' feedback. they have NO idea what customer care mean and doesn't mind losing loyal Fitbitters to other platforms...
