Battery wont charge when connected to charger

My Alta HR will.not charge when connected to the charger. No symbol appears on the screen. I've already cleaned the contacts on both, restarted the fitbit, checked the cable in a different usb port. Nothing works. Buy a new charger or new fitbit perhaps??

I have the same issue with the Alta.  It is very frustrating.  I don't want a new or different fitbit.  I want my charger to charge my Alta.  Does anyone have an answer or suggestion?  I have cleaned the charger and the Alta to no avail.

Me too -- I plug it in and verify that the connection is made.  Come back hours later to find that it has not charged at all.  I fiddle with it, make sure the connection shows that charge is occurring and go to bed.  And again, wake up in the AM with a completely drained battery that has not taken a charge.  Usually the third attempt to charge works, but it seems like my Alta is on its way out of my life.

My Alta HR also died like that one day. I tried following:

Changing charging ports. Several times

Cleaning the connecting ports & USB end

Restarting by clicking the round button on charging cable

Cleaning the device with water

Speaking to helpline, realized the device should not be exposed to water. It is not water resistant

Left device in rice for few days, upon advise of helpline, still did not work

I guess the device is gone now
