Fitbit was fully charged the night before. The battery drains within a day. Today the screen went black. App said it was dead but the HR lights were solid green and wouldn’t turn off.

Also I’ve had my Alta for over a year. (Version is 26.63.2) Is life expectancy that short on the Alta HR???

I’m not sure what happened but my above added response should not be accepted as a solution to the issue. It was just an added comment.

I am having the same problem. Dark screen, showing fully charged and green lights are flashing. What is the solution Fit Bit? This is my 3rd device I will not purchase another one.

Good evening. I am having the same issue with mine as well. This just started yesterday for me. I've tried all the solutions provided (ie - reset, let drain and then recharge, delete app and then add back, etc.) with no resolution. I agree that I am beginning to be very disappointed with my fitbit. I had issues with my flex. This alta was a gift from my husband to replace my flex. I guess I will have to contact Fitbit directly. It is nice to know that I am not the only one having the issue. FYI - mine is out of warranty as well. Wonder if this is going to be a continue trend that these trackers only begin to have issues after 1 yr.

My Fitbit has the blank screen, green lights on constantly not flashing, wouldn’t sync. I chatted with customer support and they told me that I tried everything and gave me a discount code for a new one. I let my batter run completely out (it still had a slight charge initially) so that the green lights were off. I plugged it into the charger and the screen lit up, it started charging and synced to my phone. I don’t know how long it will last but I’ll keep you posted

Add me to the list of users with a blinding green light that won't turn off. This happened unexpectedly. Plugged it in to charge it and it has never been the same since. Once "charged" it runs out of charge in just a few hours, likely due to the green light using up all the energy. It's out of warranty so I will wait for the obligatory offer of a discount since apparently fitbit can't or won't fix the issue that so many people are having.

Add me to the list of Alta HR users who have the issue of green lights sold and stay on

Just happened to me as well.
Wont do anything. Or sync. Just bright green lights and black screen. Has anyone found a solution? I really do not want to buy a new one.

Bumping this thread. We have two threads going with the same issue. Fitbit needs to see that they are quite a few people who have started experiencing this problem in the past week.
This is NOT a problem with hardware failure due to misuse or age. If it were, we wouldn't see it happening to so many people at exactly the same time.
I'm fairly confident it's a firmware issue that they need to resolve. And NOT by telling us that our Fitbits are no longer under warranty and the best they can do is offer a 25% discount on a new Fitbit. Ridiculous.

I agree, I will not purchase another Fitbit product unless they address this issue correctly,

It appears that Fitbit has no interest in addressing this issue. I expect that they will not acknowledge that there is a problem that is common to multiple Alta HR users. Instead they will continue to spout the same script: "your Fitbit warranty has expired, but we want to keep you as a loyal customer so we'll give you a 25% discount on a new Fitbit."
Yesterday I tweeted to Fitbit Support and they replied via private message. The same old party line:
"We can see that we offered a discount towards a new Fitbit product instead of a replacement of your existing Fitbit product. Note that our limited warranty provides repair or replacement of products that have a defect while still in the warranty period. Your device is out of the warranty period, and therefore is not eligible for repair or replacement, but we want to offer you a discount to thank you for your loyalty to Fitbit. We thank you for being a customer and hope that the discount will help keep you in the Fitbit family. If you have any other questions, please let us know."
Ridiculous. Well, they just lost me as a member of the "Fitbit family". I ordered a Garmin.

This needs a bump so others who are experiencing the same issue (and there are many) can find the thread.

I'm having the same problems. The light is bright green, dies within hours, and won't turn on. Happened out of no where with no changes to how I use it.

I am having the same issue. I guess I’ll wait until I’m back in the US and call customer service to complain since they don’t seem to be monitoring this thread. I agree that it must be a firmware issue.
