I've had a FitBit Alta for years now. Recently my old Alta started shutting down randomly even on a battery displaying about 50%. Would be totally unresponsive until plugged in.
Got the runaround about resetting (have done this multiple times) and a battery test (alta always shuts down before it can make it to 0%) and was ultimately told it was a battery.
Unfortunately none of the current offering of products offer the same slim profile and watch face that I want so back to another Alta I went. Brand new, out of the box TODAY, and it is already displaying the same symptoms.
I'm getting the same run around about battery tests and resets when this is very clearly a larger issue. Has anyone had any success in repairing an Alta with these symptoms? I am beyond frustrated by yet another product that seems to have been forcefully phased out by faulty firmware.

Hi @Megseels where did you find a new Alta? They were retired a while back. You might want to return it where you purchased it and get another style.

I'm aware FitBit retired the style, but its still in stock with several vendors. I was able to get mine from Amazon. New, not used or refurbished.
Unfortunately all of the new styles are either far to bulky or have terrible clock face options. Alta was it for me. The inspire isn't exactly inspiring.
