Calorie and step tracking seem way off for Peloton and Kickboxing.

Hi -
I don't know if this is due to a glitch with the latest update or not, but I was getting what I believe was accurate tracking previously. However, now it seems very off.

Case in point: Today I did an hour long kickboxing class where you are actually boxing the bag, so tough. It registered as an aerobic workout, so I recategorized as cardio kickboxing. It tells me that I only burned 266 calories, which definitely cannot be right - you usually burn somewhere between 500 - 600 calories in an hour class, and I was working my tail off.

Also, we just got a Peloton. I connected my Peloton account to my Fitbit, and it is logging the workouts. However, a 20 -30 minute workout is only counting as 200 steps. While I realize it is a bike workout and will be counted differently, I do 200 revolutions on the bike in the first 4 minutes, easily. I'm generally at about 80 - 90 revolutions per minute, so that would be 1600+ revolutions in 20 minutes. And it's only counting as 200 toward my step total??

It's just annoying because I set a goal to do 10,000 steps a day, and with doing the bike workout not counting as much, I am not making it and don't usually have the time or energy to try to get another workout in.

Is anyone else encountering this? Do you know of a fix? Thank you!

I'm encountering this as well. Metrics are way off, and cycling should for sure count as steps. What's the point of integration of it doesn't give credit for what's imported?

I am glad someone else is encountering this. Yes, what's the point of integration if it's not counting things correctly?

I guess I shouldn't worry so much about my stats and making my daily goals - or, wait...I should, right? That's the whole point of tracking these things!!! If I didn't want to set daily goals, I wouldn't have a Fitbit.

I hope that maybe someone at Fitbit sees this and does something about it.

Thanks for responding, if only to let me know that I am not the only one dealing with this. 🙂

Yes, me too! 30 min classes used to register as ~1,300 steps, which honestly still seems low, and now are like 300. A 30 min stroll nets 2,000+. Not very motivating!
