Can't update the Firmware on my Alta

Just got a brand new Altria because my old one was not holding a charge anymore.  Deleted my old one on the app.  Charged the new one and set up Sunday 2/7/2021.  The app told me that there were updates but every time I try to update it tells me firmware is busy or it is not connected.  I have deleted the app and reinstalled (apple products), no change.  It will not sync either.  Any suggestions?
