Charged and working but no display

My Alta HR is tracking, vibrating and syncing but the display stopped working at some point today. No display when worn nor when charging. Resets with cable have had no effect.

Hi @SunsetRunner U nfortunately it sounds as if your Alta is dying. You have tried everything that might fix it and it hasn't so there is nothing  else you can do. Sorry.

Thanks, @NellyG . Follow-up question: Any idea when the Alta HR will be decommissioned? It's been out for several years now, I think. I'd love to replace it since I have compatible bands and such, but that's not cost effective if they turn around and decommission it. That's what happened right when I replaced my Flex, previously.

Thank you.

Hi again @SunsetRunner I am not sure what you mean by decomissioned? The Alta and Alta HR have both been out of production for some years now so you can no longer buy them, unless you found and old one on the internet. There are much better (water resistant!) options available now, very similar to the Altas in size with more functions but unfortunately not compatible with the Alta bands. The Inspire 2 or the Luxe would be the closest small tracker. Have a look at the Fitbits available now.

Thanks, @NellyG .

Decommissioning refers to all support being withdrawn from a device, essentially bricking it. Here's a thread on the decommissioning that occurred with the Ultra: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Fitbit-com-Dashboard/No-sync-with-Fitbit-Ultra-error-message-quot-De...

I've been trying to hold off getting a new Fitbit as there is a feature I want that's likely in the works but, to the best of my knowledge, is not yet available: O2 saturation monitoring in real time, all day, just like calories, steps, heart rate, and other metrics. I want that, and I want it in a smaller device and without a special subscription. Maybe that will happen, maybe it won't, but it's what I've been trying to hold out for. Given the pandemic, it seems a natural feature to expand into.
