Device stop recording steps when I reach my goal

Good morning, how do I change the stats on my Alta HR tracker please.

I need to up the amount of steps which is set at 10,000 as my tracker has decided to not count my steps past this amount.
Maybe my Fitbit will work properly if I can up the steps to 20,000 per day..
Frustrating as this is my second Fitbit that has gone awry..
Went into settings and simply cannot find anywhere to change the step totals!!!!!

Cheers and hope for a quick response..

Hi @GillianRayment, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, seems odd that your Alta HR stop counting steps when you reach your step goal, I totally understand how frustrating this matter can be for you. To resolve this situation, I recommend you to try our restart process following the next steps:

  1. Plug your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. Your tracker will begin charging.
  3. Press the button on your charging cable 3 times within a few seconds, briefly pausing between presses. The button is on the end of the charging cable that is plugged into your computer. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, this means the tracker has restarted.
  4. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

Keep me posted and let me know if you have any additional questions.

Many thanks Ricardo and yes I have done as suggested and it is up and counting again.

Perchance you could tell me how to change my goal step settings on my Fitbit. I want to raise my level from 10,000 to 15,000 and find there is no way to do this ..

I do not have a smart phone to check my achievements during the day, only use my iMac OS when home so it is important for me to see my gaol reached during the daytime hours and that is way past the 10,000 steps which I initially set up.

I actually went out a purchased another Alta HR Fitbit yesterday to overcome this issue, this is now my 3rd Fitbit 🙂 So I now have a backup....
Cheers and again many thanks... Gillian
