Factory Reset for Alta?

How can I factory reset my alta?

I bought this fitbit for mother.. the band is too tight on her wrist,  went to take it back for refund, they said I need to reset it.. in other words delete all the data...  well I can't find anywhere a way to reset this dam thing..  everyone I have seen is just restart and data is still there..   what do I have to do?  stick it in the microwave for 10 secs then take it back as defective?

t logo has appeared on fit bit screen and you've unplugged it. How long dose it take to restart? Is it not until midnight that the whole thing wipes clean again?

Just a heads up . . if you have purchased an aftermarket Fitbit charging cable there is no reset button as I discovered while trying to reset mine in my office.  I will have to wait until I get home to reset it.

I cannot restart my fitbit alta  by pressing the button 3 times. My screen on the alta is black.  Nothing shows up, it stays black.  Seems like its really dead.   What do you suggest I do next?

Dear Andrea, i have a Fitbit alta, haven’t used it in a long time, and it won’t turn on at all! I tried with pressing the button short 3x or longer, by plugging it into a pc or regular charger adapter. It won’t nudge... pleaaase help!!!

I want to let my son use my Alta, so I tried to delete from my account and add to my son's account using another phone.  However, when I tried to set up a new device on an LG v10, it could not find my Alta.

I wanted to check if the Alta was something after not being used for a year, so I tried to reconnect it with my own iphone, which the Alta used to sync to, and it worked, they could find each other.

Then I tried with another iphone, and they didn't find each other, then I tried with the windows 10 app on my laptop, and they didn't find each other too.  And then I tried all the phones and computers once again, and the only phone that could find the Alta is my own iphone.

What can I do to make it work on my son's phone?

Hi i am trying to reset my daughter fitbit alta hr. 

I have tried pressing the button on charger lead 3 times? 

I need to sync it to her new phone and reset everything as it has the wrong time also?

I had the same issue..... no button on my usb charger. I just ordered a new one on Amazon with the button on the usb side of the charger. 2 for $11.00. Good luck. I am expecting mine to arrive on Monday. I am hopeful it will work as my Alta fitbit last updated 2 days ago. It is still showing low battery even tho' I have a fully charged battery. I did not want to uninstall the app for fear of loosing all my data.

There is no button on my charger. The original broke and I have a replacement, So i guss I am out of luck,

Alta works fine when fully charged, but once battery down to about 75% it stops counting.  Also, it will not respond to a double tap.

I have done soft reset process of tapping the charger button 3 times in 8 seconds, but it has not solved the problem.

Looking for another fix.

Hello

I have tried the reset many times, with the same results. My fitbit Alta still shuts off. Its fully charged and It shuts off on my wrist. I have tried unpairing then pairing again, still it shuts off. The only time it stays on is when I plug it in. What's the point if I cant wear it. Any help will be appreciated.
