Fitbit Alta HR only working when connected to charger

My fit bit Alta I bought it on July -18 . It was fine until 5 days back . Suddenly it said low battery I connected to the charger for overnight but still the screen was black and I read some post and restarted it . The screen was visible I charged it for an hour and I took it out of charger again the screen went blank .  Only while i connect it to charger it works.
