I have tried restarting my fitbit.
Yesterday I looked at my fitbit and it said I had 3000 steps. A few minutes later I went to look again and my fitbit stayed black. I just ignored it.
Today I tried to look at my steps and it wouldn't work! I came back here to look and restarting didn't help. I tried everything I could think of! Whenever I try to connect to the app it says "looking," and never does anything.
Please help!
Abigail

Thank you @MaginB! I'll make sure to do that. The problem is, I don't know when it is fully charged because the screen stays black.
I recently went on vacation. When I got out of the car my fitbit charger fell out of my lap. My fitbit died during the trip, and when we got back some kind person had put my fitbit charger on the door handle. It had rained while we were gone, so I don't know if when I charged my fitbit some water got into it....?

@MaginB My charger worked a few days ago, so I am 99.9% sure that my charger is completely fine.

Hey, my Alta will not run today, but it did last night. Charged all day and stays black. Is the only answer a replacement? I just got it in December.
How do I start the replacement process? I love my Alta.

It's great to see new faces around @OdenM!
It's a shame to hear that you're experiencing this inconvenience. As a first step I recommend following the charging best practices and then try doing the restart 2 or 3 consecutive times and keep an eye on it.
Let me know how it goes, I'll be around!

Like many others on here, I cannot get my Alta to show any sign of activity on its screen. I have logged 10 steps since fully charging and syncing it about 20 times since buying it yesterday. I wore the fitbit Alta all day today and clocked up over 10000 steps but still shows 10 from when it was first synced. My husband bought an Alta yesterday and he has had no problems. I have tried all the suggestions on these forums. Now I am left extremely disappointed and frustrated and will be returning the item to the store when I get back to UK. This was bought to use on holiday so its very annoying!!!!

I have already replaced my FitBit ALta once and no it's out of warranty. It will not turn on from overnight charging. I shouldn't have to purchase another one and I've already connected it to a computer and held down the button the charger. Nothing is working. I am not happy at all.....!
