In last couple of days my Alta battery is draining within a couple of hours where previously lasted several days. Have tried resetting but still same problem.

I ordered my fitbit alta HR on july 16th, 2019. Past couple of days it only holds a charge now for 1 hour and dies. I did the reset a couple times, let it die then charged to 100% and nothing worked. I bought a Fitbit Charge HR today but honestly don't like it as much (band is so big!). I didn't realize until now that I haven't even had my Alta HR for a year yet until it died like this.

I don't have a fix for this, but my Alta is doing the same thing. Mine is 2 years old. It used to last a week between charges, now it is hard to keep it charged at all. When I go to plug it in, it shows that it should still have a charge. Very frustrating.

So has a fix for this ever been found?

The best info I could find was that the batteries have a limited life. I ended up having to buy a new Fitbit!
