My Fitbit is nearly 3 years old and working fine then suddenly the display was lost, activity tracking and synching and although on checking the battery is full. Display and synching only possible when the Fitbit is plugged in through charger

Hi Andrea-

I purchased it at Kohl’s in November 2017, and it did come with a charger. However, there is no button on the charger that would allow me to restart the Fitbit. Thanks for reaching out

Andrea,

Got my new charger with a button (Thank you Fitbit for giving it to me free of charge).

I reset and it is working for now.  Hoping it will last.

My main complaint about getting a discount on a new model is I have purchased over time at least 4 different bands for my Alta which will not work on anything else.  If I have to opt for a model, I will have to put out more money again.  I love the size of the Alta and the bands I have.

Plus if this is an Alta issue, Fitbit needs to come out and say something because there are still secondary sellers out there selling them online.  People need to know.

Hi , I experienced the same issues too. It worked perfect then it was put back on the charger and shows that the battery is full but as soon as I put it back on my wrist it registers nothing and the screen in blank.

I’ve tried the reset and that did nothing.its all really frustrating.

I'm suffering from same issue now. It started shutting off ramdomly although I check my bettery status as full in few hours before. Funny thing is, when I check bettery status after turn it on by connecting charging cable, screen still shows my bettery is still full.

How frustrating it is when I realized my fitbit was down during 20 kilometers of walking...

I am having same issues with my Alta. I have already followed the instructions from one of your live chat agents but nothing good happened. It is a bit disappointing because I  always handle my tracker with care.

Wow, good for you. I forgot to mention I'm way past the warranty period. I have my Alta for more than 2 years.

I have had my Fitbit for 4 years and it has been great. This past weekend it died so I plugged it into the charger to charge. It charged completely, but when I unplug it from the charger and the screen goes black it will not turn back on unless you replug it into the charger and then it shows full battery.

Please help!! I absolutely love my Fitbit Alta. Only thing I wish the alta had was a heartrate monitor.

Please help!

Thank you.

My alta is doing the same thing. I plug into charger and it says full battery but as soon as I unplug I can't get anything on the screen. I'm updated to the latest app update, I've resetted several times, removed device and added back and nothing seems to work.

Hi! None of the suggestions worked. It's frustrating. I guess this is the end of my Fitbit experience as I have seen similar experiences here in the community. My Alta is turning 3 years old next month. It was fun while it lasted.

I have been having the same issue. My Alta will stay on for 1-2 days and the screen will go out in the middle of the day. I have to plug it in to get the screen to come back on. I have re-set the Alta 3 times now hoping that this would help, which it has not. It also appears that there are no updates needed for the Alta.
I have loved having the Alta, but I hope that this is a software issue that can be updated and fixed ASAP.
