My Fitbit is nearly 3 years old and working fine then suddenly the display was lost, activity tracking and synching and although on checking the battery is full. Display and synching only possible when the Fitbit is plugged in through charger

I must say that once I restarted the Fitbit device, it started working for me!

 

check the post from Fitbit employee at the end of this forum post. Or just look up how to restart your Fitbit device.

I have an Alta and am having the exact same issue. Display will only work when plugged into the computer or wall outlet. As soon as fitbit is disconnected, screen goes black and does not respond to taps.

I am having a similar issue. My fitbit Alta does not turn on at all, even when plugged in. I have tried the following: 

1. Cleaning the charging area
2. Trying different USB ports 
3. Buying a new charging cable 
4. Restarting the device 
 
It is older than 2 years but was always kept in good condition. What can I do?
