Fitbit Alta too dim to see in a dark room

I see many people reporting this and no responses from FitBit.  My Alta is too dim to see in a pitch dark room, much less indoors in a lit room, much less outside. Please advise if anyone reads this.

Hi @shiloh42  Fitbit has reported in many different threads. There isn't anything we can do to make our devices brighter. Newer styles have the ability to  make the screen brighter, but not the Alta series. Sorry. I have the Alta HR.

I don't think you understand. I'm not talking about how it's hard to read in direct sun.

It's nearly black! It's not 'hard to read' - it's so faint that it can't be read anywhere at all. Not even in a pitch black room. I can make out the first two digits of the time, and that's it.

@Odyssey13   @shiloh42  I’m having the same problem with my screen dimming.  If you would have read the post correctly you would have learned that @shiloh42 was reporting that he couldn’t read his screen in the dark.  Anyone who wears an ALTAHR device knows that it’s difficult to wear in the bright sun.   Please respond to both of us, as to any way that this can be fixed.  It’s not always easy for people to buy the next model up.  Thank you.

My Fitbit Alta Hr has lost pretty much all screen brightness as well. I can hardly read the numbers in a dark room. The device is fully charged and has been reset several times. Please let me know if a solution is found. Unfortunately I'm on a graduate student budget and can't justify the purchase of a new device right now.
