Fitbit Alta won't stay charged

My Alta fitbit was working just fine and just this past week, it will not hold a charge. 2 times in one day my fitbit totally died. I was able to hold a charge for almost 2 days, and now I can't even make it 4 hours and it's almost dead. Anyone else having this issue?

My alta is doing the exact same thing.  It is so dissapointing that after 1 year it won't hold a charge more than 3 hours.  I reset it several times, synced it several times and it still dies.  @FerdinandFitbit , I would love someone to look at mine and contact me.  I want to believe this product isn't just junk for what we paid for it.  😞

I read all the complaints posted and tried resetting.  Shows full charge and then NO charge 6 hours or so later.  The long battery life was the feature that sold me on the Alta.  I am pretty bummed.  Back to Garmin, I guess.  Much less attractive, but needs no charging.

I'm having a similar issue with the fitbit I replaced in December. How did you get yours replaced?

I kept telling them it wasn’t working and didn’t accepted percentages off a new one. It shouldn’t be like this. I won’t buy another Fitbit because I don’t trust it, as much as I love Fitbit.

how do you go about getting it replaced because mine won't hold a charge either.  Thank you!

I am having the same issue. I purchased my Alta in 03/2019. It has never fully charged. It got to the point it would not hold a charge for more than 30 minutes. I contacted Fitbit and they sent me a replacement. It is doing the same thing from day one. It will not fully charge. Fitbit stated they can see it is 75% charged. I took it off the charger and 30 minutes later it was not responding/dead. I have been a Fitbit customer since 2013. I had a Zip and a Flex with no issues. I think this Alta is a piece of junk.

I lost my original charger and I have replacement. I do not see where I push a button on the charging cable to reset it. Is there another way to reset it?

I'm having the same exact issue out of the blue pretty much exactly a year after I bought it. Warranty expired last week. I've reset it a ton of times, recharged it overnight, etc. It's definitely not the charger as the same charger charges my gfs Alta with no issues. I've cleaned my Fitbit and done every troubleshooting tip I can find.

@Fitbit - this seems to be a very widespread issue. I reached out on Twitter because it was the only method I could find, but no one has responded. How can you help me? I've been a loyal buyer of your products got years, but this is the last straw and I'm about to move my entire family and clientele off Fitbit (I'm a personal trainer).

This seems to be an ongoing problem.  Fitbit has not been helpful. . .just steered me in the direction of buying a new Fitbit.

I'm very nearly there. In my initial Twitter DM's to them I told them that I had already tried every troubleshooting idea I could find on the internet. Their response (which took 2 days to receive)? "Have you tried these troubleshooting steps?"

Customer service is basically non-existent and probably the biggest reason I'm thinking about making the switch. You know, aside from paying $90+ for a device that barely lasts a year before malfunctioning for literally no reason.

Yes, the Gamin I had was much better.  It ran on a battery and did not need charging.

Having the same issues. Didn't need to charge for over a week and now it won't hold a charge for more than a day.

Badger them on Twitter about how this is clearly a widespread issue, you've
tried every troubleshooting technique, and how you're going to badmouth
them to everyone you know.

It's sad that I had to resort to that, but that's how I got them to replace
mine even though the warranty was already up.

My Versa 2 is doing the same thing used to charge Wednesday and Sunday now charge doesn’t last 1 day. Screen currently black and won’t turn on.
