My Alta fitbit was working just fine and just this past week, it will not hold a charge. 2 times in one day my fitbit totally died. I was able to hold a charge for almost 2 days, and now I can't even make it 4 hours and it's almost dead. Anyone else having this issue?

Thanks for getting back @DUMITRESC!
I'm very sorry about this. Normally, our team would offer a discount on the purchase of a new tracker once you're out of warranty. Would you like me to escalate your case with our Support Team for them to see if there are any other options as a discount?
I'll be looking forward for your reply!

I charged my Altra yesgerday. This morning it was dead. I have had it on the charger all day and it shows battery is full. When I take it off the charger the screen is blank.

I'm sorry about that @DUMITRESC. If you want I can still escalate your case to see if there are any other available options in your situation. If you'd like me to do it, be sure to let them know about this for them to take it into consideration when offering any other option.
@LLDMorris, I'm sorry about that. Have you tried by any chance to restart it? If not, you can easily do this by clipping your tracker to the charger and plugging the charger to a USB port on your computer or a wall charger. Then, Press the button on your charging cable three times within four seconds and your tracker should vibrate and show the Fitbit logo. This will make your tracker to reboot.
Let me know how it goes. Good to see you both in the Forums! 🙂

I have tried to reset my Alta several times. I even had it on the charger all day yesterday and it was still working as long as it was plugged into the charger. As soon as I took it off the charger it went dead. My FitBit app kept saying the battery was full. So I took it off the charger last night. This morning I put it back on the charger and it showed the battery was still full but the time was off and date. It showed 11:50 Sunday, Sept. 9th. It still would not stay on when off the charger. I tried everything the last two days. Resetting several times. Uninstalling app and reinstalling app (which I didn't think would make a difference but tired it). If FitBit will give me something that would be great but after reading all the complaints from people with the same issue and only getting a $25 credit if that I gave up. In the meantime I ordered a Versa. I better not have problems with that device. And to be honest, I ordered it from Amazon because I got a better extended warranty with it than I would have with FitBit and it was for 3 yrs instead of 2 and cost less. Hopefully you escalate this to higher management on this issue. I think it was the last update that messed everything up.
Thank you,
Lisa Morris

As I said, looks like this devices are disposable, almost at the same quality of the chinese replicas or worse unfortunately.
And if we talk about the bands.. I already spent $90 in three different bands with the same poor quality.. I would like to think that these are made for sports or activity....
Dissapointed.

I’m having the same problem with my Alta, unfortunately it’s just out of warranty. It was working perfectly and the battery was lasting over a week but all of a sudden it’s only lasting about six hours. I’ve tried cleaning the contacts, resetting etc and it’s made no difference.

I’m having the same problem. My Alta is about 6 months old. It was a gift so I don’t know exactly when or where it was purchased. I have cleaned it, reset it numerous times but it dies after a couple of hours. Ready to give up on it Any suggestions?

If you live in the EU your Fitbit is guaranteed for two years. My first Fitbit broke within the two year period and now my Alta battery has gone and I’ve just realised it’s just within the two year period too! I’ve just emailed customer services. They were very good the first time and replaced it without any problem.

Hi everyone! Good to see you all around! 🙂
For those that are having problems with the battery on their trackers not lasting as it should, I can recommend putting your tracker to charge and once it's fully charged, take it off the charger and put it on. Sync it and use it as you would normally do. Make sure to sync it frequently after this (every one or two hours at least) so that the battery levels are recorded on the app logs and once the battery dies, let me know so that I can take a closer look and then we can move forward with other options to get you back on track.
Anything else, let me know!
