From 2pm today the fitbit app on my android phone has refused point blank to synch with my Alta HR. Bluetooth is fine and finds the Alta HR, but the app just will not synch and returns the error, device not found!
What gives?

This post needs an update, as I have managed to fix my Alta HR, and so far so good! The device only needed rebooting. This is done, by either pressing the small button on the charger attachment three times while it's plugged in, or if you don't have the button on your charger, plug it into a wall socket (safely, with the correct charger, of course) and hit the on/off switch three times. It can be slightly hit and miss so persevere. When the device is rebooted it will flash it's version number etc across the screen of the Alta HR. Viola fixed!
I can only assume like other electronic equipment, it needs its cache clearing every now and then. Would be nice if Fitbit would tell us this. Save a lot of complaints in the long run.

Mine says I need to update the app because its version is no longer compatible! I can't find an update app anywhere!

My Alta HR still hasn't updated or synched properly and the app on my android Samsung Galaxy phone, still refuses to "find my device." The last time it worked properly was Tuesday the 16th of June at 2:49. Since then, no amount of un-installing, or unpairing, repairing, has worked. Is this fitbit due an update, or does the app on the phone need an update? Allegedly no, according to the dropdown menus, but i'm not convinced! I'm also told that certain fitbits tend to have a lifespan of about a year, the Alta HR included. This would make sense as lo and behold the warranty has just run out! Cynical? Possibly, but I've seen this sort of behaviour with electronic devices before. I will be putting in an official complaint, and ringing the company, as these items are not cheap!

I've tried the uninstall and relogging in, as well as resetting my Fitbit. There was no change. It still can't find my device

I'm glad you were able to fix it! I ended up buying a charge 4, and still will not sync fully. My issue seems to be something to do with the app itself

Mine has had issues ever since 8 March when the app crashed. When I can get the 3 pulses to work, it only tracks steps for an hour at most then dies again even when the battery is showing fully charged.
