Fitbit alta won't track steps or turn on screen

The alta will turn on and sync when on the charger.  Then taken off the charger it will work for about 5 hours then the screen won't turn on and track any steps that I take.  I put it back on the charger and it will sync up and say it used battery life.  I tried restarting it with the button on the charger 3 times and still the same thing happens?  Is there anyway to fix this?

Hi @Cahilde No, I think your Alta is dying. If restarting doesn't change this strange behaviour then there is nothing else you can do, I'm afraid. Sorry
