It should be OK. When a fitbit is fully charged it stops drawing current.

Personally I'm always wary of leaving electrics plugged in more than they need to be but you should be fine. I was given this advice from a fitbit moderator:

  • "We recommend plugging charging cables into a USB port on a computer or other low-energy device.
  • If necessary, you can use a UL-certified USB wall charger.
  • Don't use a USB hub or battery pack to charge.
  • Only use the official Fitbit branded charging cable that came with your tracker.
  • Leaving a tracker on a charger for an extended period of time is ok to do.
  • We've completed extensive testing that proves that battery life is not negatively affected by extended charging periods."

Thank you!   I left mine charging for a full day, and I kinda got worried.

I'm sure it'll be fine but that post of mine is now quite old and Fitbit have updated their advice since then. They now say:

"For best results, don’t leave your device plugged in on the charger longer than overnight."

I just realized I left mine on the charger before I left on vacation.    Are these likely to catch fire or am I just risking future battery life on the Fitbit?
