Fitbit app can't find Alta HR to pair

I'm trying to set up my Alta (which I haven't used in a while) with a new phone, an LG Stylo4.  Old phone was wrecked, can't log out of app or do anything from there.  The fitbit app won't sync with the tracker and won't pair as a new tracker.  I've tried every combination of resetting the tracker, restarting my phone, force quitting, uninstalling, and installing the app, and replacing it as a new tracker that I can come up with, and nothing works.  Trying to sync returns an "unable to sync" message after several minutes, trying to pair as a new device gets an "Is your Alta HR powered on?" message (It is.  Fully charged and connected to the charging cable.).  I've wasted 2 hours and counting trying to figure this out.  Help?

Update:  After another half hour of trying everything, it now pairs.  It just doesn't sync ever, automatically or manually, other than the initial sync when it first paired.

I had that issue too. It still does it time to time. My remedy for my phone and fit bit was to go to the Bluetooth setting on my phone and tell it to forget my Alta connection. After it takes it off my nearby devices, I hit the refresh button. The Alta shows up, and I click on it to pair again. That is the only way that works out for me. Good luck.

My Alta HR suddenly stopped syncing. It was syncing, then data would be erased the next day. I updated the Fitbit app and ended up needing to unpair it. Now it won't pair. I get to the step of having a number show up on the Alta HR, but then the phone can't find the device. Went through the Help chat and basically had the support person tell me to do everything their help pages said (and what I already did myself).

They ended up giving me a discount code for another device but.....not sure I'm coming back after this. Such a pain.
