Hi team,
I am unable to connect Fitbit with mobile app. While connecting
1. It shows Fitbit found
2. Fitbit shows pin number
3. I enter pin to app
4. Takes time and says unable to connect
I have tried restarting app, restarting device , restarting Fitbit , disabling blutooth for some time and enabling it again.
Nothing works.
Before I trash it and move on to non fitbit device, checking if you have any solution.

May I ask what phone are you asking about?
Is this Alta HR new? If not why was the Alta HR removed from your account?

Not OP, but I am having the same issue with mine.
I've had Alta for years and never had connection issues until last week.
I have a Pixel 3a, Android 11
Alta no longer connecting for sync, restarted alta with charger button, bluetooth resets, restarted phone multiple times. Deleted device from Fitbit app and checked the online dashboard to make sure it wasn't stuck there. Now I'm exactly where OP is.
Not sure where to go from here, cannot really find any troubleshooting suggestions that go further then this.
Thanks for any help / suggestions!

I don’t know if I have the exact same problem, but here’s what I have to do now to sync my Alta:
Kill the Fitbit (iPhone) app, turn off Bluetooth completely in Settings, start up the Fitbit app, see the notification that you have to enable Bluetooth and tap on the link to switch to Settings, enable Bluetooth, then switch back to the app. I have to do this EVERY TIME I want to sync my Alta.

thanks, I'll put that into the rotation of things to try.
I had a little luck by installing Fitbit app on my laptop and adding my device through the laptop, it took a long time it to connect to it, but eventually it did connect and I was able to get the device back on my account, but it still didn't seem to be connecting on the phone.
Only thing i can think might have happened in the last week or so is Android 11. hopefully it gets worked out in an app or system update.

I have a pixel 2 and am having the same problems. Suddenly it is no longer paired with my phone and I can't get it to pair

Same timing for me. Pixel 2XL and last sync was Monday when Android 11 installed. Cannot sync now, even with force closes, reinstalls, bluetooth on/off, resets, etc., etc.

Same issue Alta HR pixel 2 owner, updated to android 11 on Monday appeared to be ok all of a sudden I have no data from Thursday, I have a battery symbol with an error come up I have reset the device and seems to be ok but cannot connect to my phone. I disconnected and have been trying to re-connect most the the evening. Done everything said above as well as clearing the cache on my phone and forcing the app to stop. Fixing this would be greatly appreciated

I was able to get mine working again eventually.
deleted device from my account and uninstalled the app.
reset the device with the button on the power cable, then downloaded the app to my laptop.
connected the Alta HR to the laptop and added it to my fitbit account through the laptop, on the laptop it did sync properly.
turned off bluetooth on my phone, installed the app back on the Pixel.
started up app, and let the app turn on bluetooth.
since then it has been syncing properly.
So there is no longer the option to turn off 'all day snyc', so with the android 11 update, i wonder if something with having it syncing continuously is messing with things? i gave fitbit all the rights it wants on the phone, and haven't turned off the notifications or anything like that (it's always syncing and so that message is always on my phone, but i'm afraid to mess with it since its working.
hope this helps someone, i wish i had a setting i changed that fixed it all, so it'd be easier, but no, i feel like i tried everything and this was eventuallyl what i found made everything talk to each other again.

Same issue here. Alta hasn't connected to phone or synced to app since 9/18/20.

Thanks for this information. I tried your steps but didn't work for me 😞
I might leave it so sync via my laptop for now.
I received a reply on my other post about my pixel 3a and non syncing Alta HR

TLDR: Pixel 3a is not supported, it may or may not work. You're on your own.

Exactly describes my problem. Worked fine up until the newest Android update.

I'm glad that this is happening to people who have phones on the "compatible list". All of the Google phones are on the list except my Pixel 3A, which is pretty much the same phone as the Pixel 2, way better than my original Pixel xl... anyway... when I contacted support "chat" I was told that my phone was not on the "compatible list". SO... it worked fine up until the Android 11 update. Step up Fitbit... this is a problem with your software and the new Android update... Google caused the problem but the issues are in your court now.

Same thing for Pixel 3.
A month after the problem started affecting a bunch of us and a couple of Android updates later, nothing changed. Worse: No words from Fitbit! 😞
I had to stop using my device as it is running out of battery every day, I guess because it is running out of space to collect more data without syncing and is frantically trying to connect with the App!?

Chiming in with same thing on Pixel 3, Android 11. Same problem: losing sync.
Bought a new Inspire 2, works perfectly fine. Didn't like it, bought a brand new Alta HR.
**ahem** thing won't sync reliably, and won't even get through the firmware update process (my old Alta HR was already up to date).

just want to add that I can no longer get my alta HR to pair to my fitbit account on my laptop either. So while the fitbit works on my wrist, I can't compare data from day to day or see my sleep information. This is very frustrating. I guess my relationship with fitbit is done after 10 years because I am not going to buy a new phone just to be able to get this app.

Workaround is to sync your Fitbit Alta with a device running an older version of the Android OS (not 11).
Your activity info will be updated on your Android 11 device -- indirectly i.e. via your Fitbit account vs Fitbit to your Android 11 device sync.
Surprised there is no fix from Fitbit for this issue.
