Fitbit app shows device found but can not connect

Hi team,

I am unable to connect Fitbit with mobile app. While connecting

1. It shows Fitbit found

2. Fitbit shows pin number

3. I enter pin to app

4. Takes time and says unable to connect

I have tried restarting app, restarting device , restarting Fitbit , disabling blutooth for some time and enabling it again.

Nothing works.

Before I trash it and move on to non fitbit device, checking if you have any solution.

Yup, same problem on Pixel 3 here. Tried everything I could find now apart from synch to laptop, that is next.

Also tried on my backup phone  Nokia 5 and won't pair with that. That is Android 11 as well though

Adding via the Windows 10 app solved the problem.

This has taken me hours to research and fix though so not the happiest of bunnies

I also have a Pixel 3. I couldn't sink my Alta HR so I uploaded the fitbit app to my window 10 computer and that won't work either.  The fitbit had discharged and the battery is full now.  I just removed the alta HR from my account and I've tried over and over to reconnect it hoping that it would sync but now I can't reconnect it.  Just like everyone else is saying.  The time is wrong on the alta HR.  I was able to connect the alta HR to my computer and I finally synced it.  And then I went back to my Pixel 3 and it synced!  I have no idea how long this will stay connected, but at least it worked now.  I'll know more in a day or two.  This was ay too hard.  I've been working on this for 2 hours and had tried for days before.

Pixel 2 with Alta HR here. I installed the app on MacOS and it still can't find the device through bluetooth. I want to put the device in a blender after spending my precious hours letting baby cry!

Seeing lots of Pixel owners here with the Alta HR. I too have a Pixel 3XL, and when my device stopped syncing I followed the troubleshooting steps to delete the device and re-add it to my account... which was a mistake. Here I am unable to move beyond entering the 4 digit PIN code.

I contacted Fitbit two weeks ago and they have advised it's a known issue, and they're "working on a resolution." I asked for an update, and they replied and said it hasn't been fixed yet. Unfortunately there's no way to solve this at the moment, and we're stuck with useless devices. I can't even use it as a watch because the time is wrong! 🤣

Wow, It is now mid March of 2021 and the issue still hasn't been solved by neither Fitbit or Google (who owns Fitbit now).

After almost a week of trying to make it work, I was finally able to re-add the Alta HR tracker to my daughter account.

I used a relatively new Chromebook, that allows you to install Android apps, and had the Fitbit app installed and attempted to connect with the tracker.

I had to restart the tracker while it was searching for it and it did connect and synced after it. After that, syncing with a Pixel 3a was a breeze.

I tried connecting with the Windows app before trying Chromebook, but it had the same issue as with Pixel 3a.

Hope it will help someone. Cheers!

Same thing!

My Google Pixel 2 wouldn’t sync anymore. I tried everything and even worked with support and they couldn’t figure it out. Then, I used my computer to set up and it automatically showed up in the app on the and it’s been working great ever since.

i’ve had issues since upgrading to Android 11. I think Fitbit needs to improve their Android support.

My suggestion for people stuck on set up: find another device to pair it with, and it will start showing up in the app on the problem device as long as they are using the same account.
