Fitbit says "fitbit.com/setup"

I fully charged my fitbit alta this morning, and when it finished it simply says "fitbit.com/setup" on the screen.

It has been working great until today.

This website does not exist, so I do not know where to go for this problem. My Fitbit will not connect to any device, and the screen won't change to anything but "Fitbit.com/setup".

Any suggestions?

Thanks

That message suggests that the fitbit has become disconnected from your account. To reconnect it you'll need to go through the setup process again.

On the main dashboard page in the app select your profile picture at the top left and on the next screen select "set up a device". This will step you through the setup and hopefully get you working again. I'm afraid you will have lost any steps tracked since it last synced.

I have the same issue.  I just got a replacement as the original one I purchased, the HRM stopped working.  As soon I plugged in the replacement that screen appears for me also.  No idea what that's about.

@KrissyAC that sounds normal. Replacements need to be associated with your account before they can be used. When you add the Fitbit as a new device it will ask if you want to replace your original Fitbit. Just say yes and follow the prompts. All your data, settings, badges etc will be retained.

I have let the fitbit go completely dead, restarted the phone, changed the profile picture, tried restarting the fitbit, put the phone on top of the fitbit, but the phone won't connect to the fitbit. It still has the same fitbit.com/setup message scrolling. What to try next?

@Tate_S the fitbit will show nothing but that message until it is reconnected to your account by going through the setup process.

How are you trying to connect to the phone? The connection has to be done via the app and not via the phone's Bluetooth settings. If you are trying via the app, what error are you getting?
