My fitbit seems completely dead, I tried resetting it and it won't turn on at all. No green lights, no vibration when plugged in nothing. Completely dead. Any possibility of fixing it? Thank you!

Hi, @AKMade it is definitely worth trying the restart several times, as especially with the Alta it is difficult to get the timing just right in the restart procedure.
The advice is, while it is plugged in and recharging, press the button three times. pausing briefly between each press. If you pause too long it won’t work, and if you don’t pause at all it won’t work, so there is a sweet spot. I always suggest press, then say outloud One Two, press again, say One Two, and then press a third time. Try it a few times...
If that still doesn’t work, it may be that your Alta has come to the end of its useful life and you might think of an upgrade. I used to have an Alta HR, but I now use the more recent Inspire HR and I really love it.
If the restart still doesn’t work, and you are thinking of an upgrade, it is probably worth getting in touch with Fitbit Customer Support on contact.fitbit.com . I have heard that they are often able to offer a discount to loyal users who are looking to upgrade their Fitbit.
Good luck, let us know how it goes, and welcome to the forums!

Mine just did the same thing, I didn’t see the time and looked at the back and no green lights. Tried the suggestion Julia you posted and nothing. So upset I’ve loved my Fitbit Alta HR I’ve only had it for 1.5 years.
I will try to contact them.

I called customer service they said clean the gold contacts on device and charger with rubbing alcohol. I tried but nothing.
had it charging for several hours yesterday. Hubby did it again this morning got at least a battery icon charging on device but still no green lights. I tried to reset, but nothing. Late this afternoon he did a reset again and the green lights came back on, plus all the data.
I was ready to buy a new one. Not sure if the problem will happen again. So we shall see!

@Kathybombino , I am goad that the reset worked. It is always worth trying it several times, especially after leaving it for a bit, as a single restart does not always work. Happy stepping!
