I have the same problem. I have tried resetting to no avail. The heart rate monitor in setting was on auto snd I turned it to on but still not showing on the app or my Fitbit. Any other suggestions?

That’s good for you. I have a theory that the probably switch heart rate off when you have had your fitbit for a while and have accrued too much data! I have now given up and bought a second hand Apple Iwatch which was cheaper than my Fitbit and is 100% better, it does far much more, has a really good built gps which is much more accurate on readings for my running. My husband has done the same after we both have had two Fitbit’s in a row, Just wish we had known sooner!

How was it fixed?
My tracking of steps and sleep works, the green LEDs are flashing, I get actual heart beat number in the APP, but no recording in the APP of heart beat or sleep stages, which is important for me.
Have tried all the fixes mentioned (reset device, upgrade SW, reinstall APP, reinstall Alta HR, stop APP etc), and changed the Heart Rate setting from Auto to On.
More than one week now without sleep stage recording. It started with a black display on the Alta HR, which needed Reset with the charge cable to work again.
Getting rather frustrated..

I agree. I finally switched to an Apple Watch as well although I wasn’t as lucky so mine wasn’t so cheap but well worth every dime. Even thought I pay $10 monthly service but I can leave the house without my phone and still have an all in one device.
Fitbit as the BEST at one point. I’ve purchased several upgrades for myself over the years and several others as gifts for family so I had invested a lot of money in them over years but it was time to move on.
i even purchased a $40 tracker for my 92 year old mother and it monitors all of her vital (blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen) as well as her steps and even her theropods gave it a thumbs up all for a quarter of the price of the last Fitbit which couldn’t do half as much. Of course this isn’t medical grade but is pretty spot on when compared to what her health professionals get.

Hi,
just managed to fix a similar issue I had. Tried all the resetting and that didn’t work. Then went into the quick setting and realised it was set to on clip not wrist. Not sure how that happened, but setting it to wrist reactivates the green lights.
hope this helps.
