When I initiate a run via the exercise tab, it shows the map, splits energy and impact but does not show my heart rate during the run. However, if I go for a run without activating the exercise tab and the watch picks it up automatically then it will show my heart rate information This is forcing me to use two separate apps. One for tracking distance/splits and the Fitbit to track my heart rate. When do you plan on merging these two features or should I start exploring other fitness watch options?

Hi, @mcmoshe! Unfortunately, the Alta HR was never really intended to have this functionality. If you look at pretty much any other model (Charge, Versa, Ionic), you'll see they do have this functionality. I'm not sure that you'll ever see this out of the Alta HR.

I'm sorry, MakMak, but this was a feature on Alta HR until the July 29, 2019 update. I got my first Alta HR in September of 2016 and it was certainly a feature at that time through 7/29/19.
Other Fitbit reps have responded to the multiple threads about this stating that it's a known issue and they "are working on it". After roughly six months with no fix, I truly believe Fitbit isn't interested in or going to reinstate this feature.
It's misleading of you to tell Fitbit customers that it "...was never really intended to have this functionality." At least be honest with your remarks.

Thank you the3amigos! I knew it was a feature at one point then seemed to disappear. My training partner has an ionic fitbit and his does not have this feature as well. Im saving for some training gear, and once it's all purchased I'll be switching to a Garmin.
