How do I factory reset the Alta HR?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So I am going to get a large version to decide which size is right for me. Using the Fitbit sizing paper strip, I fall right in the middle. I already set up the small one. If I need to return the small one, how do I factory reset it and clear the data?

I found instructions for many of the other bands but not this one. Anyone know?

Thanks!!

I am selling my Fitbit Alta HR.  What do I need to do to clear the data that is on it?  Thanks for your help.

This is not entirely true. I picked up a used Alta HR and it did reset when paired to a new account. However, that new account immediately earned badges for the steps that were cached on the tracker.

@NellyGwrote:

There is nothing you can do to wipe it clean, but the records it has are connected to your account and will not show on a new account. When someone sets it up as a new device on a new email address it will set up as new with no records.

That is not true. I created a new account and set it up with a used Fitbit HR and the previous owners data transferred to my new account.

 I have Alta HR. That didn't work for me. Bummer.

I'm going to see if the new owner can just reset it when they hook it up to their own app.

I gave my old Alta HR to my daughter this morning (for her birthday).  I created an account for her shortly afterwards.

I only stopped wearing it yesterday myself.  Upon linking the FitBit and her account a few minutes ago, it gave her two badges (5,000 daily steps and 10,000 daily steps), and has given her an average daily steps of 11,000+.  Why has it done this please, and how can I reset it?

@RachelRP  It did this because you did not sync it one last time to your account

Make sure you remove the device from Bluetooth settings as well.
